Honored Martyr's Story
After being pushed out of Palmyra, ISIS returned with heavy ground attacks on December 12. Some of the tactics included placing landmines in homes of people considered to have not been aligned with them. Lina and her child Mohammad were killed by a land mine near the ancient heritage sites of Palmyra. It is believed that the mine was most likely placed as a trap by Daesh (ISIS).
