Honored Martyr's Story
Safira, a nurse with the International Committee of the Red Cross, moved to Rann to work with the organization Bring Back our Girls to safely ensure the release and healing of girls kidnapped by Boko Haram. In March of 2018, the office was raided and she was kidnapped. After extensive negotiations, Safira was executed by Islamic State West Africa Province, a faction of Boko Haram.
