Honored Martyr's Story
Sabreen migrated from Rafah, Palestine to Egypt, then Turkey to get married. After spending three weeks together in Turkey, her husband left for Belgium where he was setting up for a life together. Sabreen could not obtain documents and decided that, rather than returning back to Gaza where there was constant oppression and war of apartheid, she would find a smuggler to take her via boat across the Mediterranean. Her small boat with only 27 people capsized. Most of the people survived, but Sabreen did not.
