Honored Martyr's Story
Ahlam had repeatedly reported her father for abuse her entire life. After a divorce, she had to return home. Her father regularly beat her and berated her, telling her she was an embarrassment. Ahlan was placed in jail at her father’s hands for a short while, but then her father paid her bail with the belief to kill her. On the night of Ahlan’s murder, her father beat her in public. Video went viral of Ahlan screaming and running out of her house for help. She begged her mother for help. Her father repeatedly bashed in her skull with a cinder block as neighbors unsuccessfully tried to intervene and police arrived too late. When her father killed her, he sat on the street next to her body and Ahlan’s mother served him tea. He drank his tea next to his daughter’s body with her blood on his hands
