Honored Martyr's Story
Asmaa, an Afghan immigrant, lived with her 44 year old husband and two small children in Sacramento where she had no close relatives. On the afternoon of January 14, Asmaa’s husband Asghar Ehsan stabbed her to death in the same home where their children were. He was arrested by the next day when her body was discovered after a welfare check by the police. Asmaa’s cousin immediately took over the situation, starting a crowdfunding campaign and claiming custody of the children, but also erasing what happened to Asmaa.
