Honored Martyr's Story
Mayada’s house was falsely identified and targeted by US drone surveillance as an ISIS combatant site and car bomb factory. The Razzo home was destroyed in this raid, killing Mayada and her daughter Tuqa. The home of her brother-in-law Mohannad next door, also targeted by the airstrike, killed him and Mayada’s nephew Najib. Mayada’s husband Basim survived and struggled for nearly two years to have the US State Department acknowledge that the strikes on his and his brother’s homes were strikes on civilians.
