Honored Martyr's Story
Karima was an activist who spoke out against Pakistan’s military rule. She advocated for the autonomy of Balochistan. In 2015, she was charged with inciting terrorism for her activism in Pakistan. In 2016, she was given asylum in Canada. She had to flee Pakistan but continued to be outspoken. She received death threats while in exile and days before dying was told to watch for a Christmas present. She disappeared on December 20 and her body was found two days later. Canadian police said that her death was “unsuspicious” but her friends believe that she was assassinated.
