Arwa al-Baghdadi

Age: Adult Reclaimed on Jan 29, 2017 Bayda, Yemen, Asia Rose Colonial Name: Gemini

Honored Martyr's Story

Arwa was a suspected AQAP militant strategist. In the first invasive raid of the Trump administration, the Navy Seals and Emerati special forces were targeting to capture or kill Qasim al-Raymi, but ended up killing at least 59 civilians, mostly women and children. One Navy Seal was also killed. The small village of al-Ghayil in the Yakla region was home to mostly civilians with some militants said to have been associated with Al-Qaeda intermingled. The sloppy raid began with an air assault. As people fled their homes after the air attacks, they were shot at indiscriminately. Arwa, her son Osama and her pregnant sister-in-law were all killed.
