Honored Martyr's Story
This young woman married a police officer who was extremely controlling. He had a history of being abusive and only allowed her to visit her family once in their marriage. According to her mother, she received a phone call from her son-in-law saying that her daughter had a small burn accident and that they were thinking about taking her to the hospital. Her mother could hear her daughter screaming, so she pleaded that they take her in. She rushed to the hospital and, after struggling with her son-in-law who didn’t want her to see her daughter, she witnessed that the girl was severely burned all over. While her daughter was still alive, she told her mother that she was being beaten by the family and that she poured gasoline on herself to make him stop. Both her husband and father-in-law watched her for several minutes before father-in-law put the fire out. They didn’t take her to the hospital for over an hour. She died at the hospital a few days later.
