Honored Martyr's Story
On May 9, Israel began a series of airstrikes targeting Gaza. Layan was in her home and killed along with two other children when her neighborhood was bombarded by Israeli military. In response, rebels in Gaza fired a limited set of missiles toward Tel Aviv. When the news came out about the children killed in the Israeli air raids, the government along with propagandist media began a smear campaign against Palestinians, stating that a failed missile from Gaza killed the children. However, Layan and other children were killed before the first missiles were fired off by rebels.
