Honored Martyr's Story

Aziza, also known by her nom de guerre Amara Renas, was a YPJ fighter. She was captured by the Turkish government backed “Free Syria Army” fighting for regional liberation in Syria, Rojava and Kurdistan. Because of her Kurdish ethnicity, gender and rank in the PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party), she was mutilated by a group of male soldiers of the Mujahideen of Faylaq al-Majd. They called her a “whore” or the Kurdish resistance. They went on to desecrate, then distribute, her body on video.
