Honored Martyr's Story
Masooma was a student at the Kaaj Educational Center. Set in the Dasht-e Barchi neighborhood in Kabul, the school served a majority Hazara population from the surrounding community. On a Friday, many students arrived to prepare for exams although it was a day off from school. A suicide bomber walked into the school and set off their detonation, killing scores of people and wounding more. Almost all of the dead are girls. Masooma was clearly very bright, preparing for her college exams at age 14.
