Honored Martyr's Story
Fereshteh was the mother of two small children. She was on her rooftop observing when people were commemorating the ritual 40th day after the murder of Nika Shahkarimi. Police and paramilitary were shooting indiscriminately at protestors. Fereshteh was one of the people who was shot and killed while in her own home. Her city of Mahabad was especially targeted as were other sites in the Kurdish provinces of Iran.
