Honored Martyr's Story
Hodan and her husband Farid Juma Suleiman were among 26 people killed when paramilitary wielding guns entered the Asasey Hotel. They were there as journalists to cover the discussion by elders of the elections. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that they were targeting the Jubaland elders and foreign ambassadors present to discuss the elections. Three Al-Shabaab members also died.
