Honored Martyr's Story
Kubra felt the pressure of the Turkish regime daily and saw it all around her, especially toward women, queers, ethnic minorities, and refugees. When the election results claiming the victory of Tayyip Erdogan again, she committed suicide by jumping in front of Istanbul’s Marmaray metro line. She stated that without a change in government, she would not escape poverty. In a note, she said she never felt free as a woman and felt like her life would not improve since Erdogan was elected again.
