Honored Martyr's Story
As Pakize was walking across a street with walking stick, a Turkish military vehicle which was parked turned the ignition on. With Pakize in his sight, the soldier hit her and drove over her body, smashing her into the ground. Although he knew he killed her, he didn’t even stop. Her family had to come and scrape her body off the asphalt. Turkish government gave full blame to Pakize for the accident. When there was community outrage and clear CCTV footage, the officer was arrested. The 26 year old soldier’s name was never given to the public and he was released after only a few hours.
