Honored Martyr's Story
While peacefully marching in protest of the 2009 elections, Neda was shot and killed by Basij paramilitary supporting Ahmadinejad’s regime. The paramilitary were hidden among the marchers, serving as informants and violent agitators. Video of her murder went viral and made international news circuits. Some said that her murder was one of the sparks of the many regional movements for social change aka “Spring.”
