Honored Martyr's Story

US Coalition forces were in search of Daesh planting a car bomb. Zahra and her family witnessed one strike, then ran to find shelter in the home of Mohammad and Shamsah where the second strike hit them. In all, 15 people were killed. None were Daesh, and most were women and children. The members of Daesh who were planting the car bomb fled, so only civilians were killed. In 2017, the US Coalition stated that civilians were not killed. It was only after several reports by the Los Angeles Times that the US Coalition was forced to admit civilians were killed.
