Honored Martyr's Story
Negin agreed to her parents’ plan to marry her at age 12 primarily to escape from her home where she faced child abuse and beatings from her father. After marriage, her husband also became abusive beating her even worse. When Negin became a mother, she divorced her husband in fear that she and her daughter would be subjected to more abuse. She newly remarried but her ex-husband continually threatened her. On January 23, he came to Negin’s home, doused her with gasoline, set her on fire and fled. Negin died in the hospital 6 days later due to her body being 95% burned.
