Honored Martyr's Story
Sonia was engaged to 23 year old Ali when she noticed his behavior was erratic. He had been fighting with her, becoming controlling and abusive. He stole all of her gold jewelry when he forced her to give him the jewelry to hold, and replaced it with fake gold so his reputation would not be questioned. When Sonia confronted Ali about being an addict and wanting to break off the engagement, Ali became enraged. The next day he demanded to see Sonia, who was with her 8 year old brother. He arrived at her home with a carpet-weaving knife and began stabbing Sonia, slitting her throat. Her young brother was also killed when he attempted to stop Ali.
