Honored Martyr's Story
US Coalition forces were in search of Daesh planting a car bomb. Zahra and her siblings, 12 year old Maryem and 2 year old Zaid, witnessed one strike, then ran to find shelter in a neighbor’s home when the second strike hit them. In all 15 people were killed. None were Daesh and most were women and children. The members of Daesh who were planting the car bomb fled, so only civilians were killed. In 2017, the US Coalition stated that civilians were not killed. It was only after several reports by the Los Angeles Times that the US Coalition was forced to admit civilians were killed.
