Honored Martyr's Story

On May 21, as Rafif’s family was having Iftar, Rafif fell without anyone hearing a sound. They initially thought she may have injured her head as a result of the fall. At the hospital, they found that she was shot in the head by a bullet from an M-16 weapon. Israeli police quickly created a story of the shot coming from the West Bank, but the family lived far from the separation wall. The story then became spun that the family had enemies. Based on the caliber of the bullet, it is believed widely that Rafif was hit by a stray bullet from the Israeli police. She succumbed to her injury 10 days later.
