Honored Martyr's Story
When Bulgaria built barbed wire fencing along most of its borders in 2014, only the mountains were left without the barrier. This resulted in the deaths of hundreds of migrants as they crossed the Strandzha section of the Balkan Mountains. This unnamed woman was found dead of hypothermia in the Turkish Strandzha near the Bulgarian border. The exact date of her death is unknown, nor any details of her journey from Somalia.
