Honored Martyr's Story
Mursal Nabizada was elected to Afghanistan’s National Assembly in 2019 at the age of 27 within the US backed, postwar government. When the US troops were withdrawn and Taliban took over, she stayed in Afghanistan rather than seek exile. She had always been openly critical of the Taliban. At 3 am several unidentified assassins entered her home, shooting and killing Mursal and her bodyguard. Her brother and another security guard were also injured.
