Fahezeh’s family fled Herat, Afghanistan due to war and moved to Tehran. At age 14, Fahezeh was married to her 25 year old cousin. Her entire family fled Iran to Norway due to bigotry and poor treatment. Fahezeh also fled a bit later with her husband, whom she earlier tried to divorce, and their 2 year old daughter. After traveling via boat to Greece, the family was separated. Fahezeh and her child were able to receive asylum in Norway, staying in the basement of a home for unaccompanied minors. She was on rare occasions allowed out to visit her sister. While visiting her older sister, her husband was there. He stabbed Fahezeh to death in front of their daughter, then fled with her. He was stopped and detained. Their daughter was placed in Norwegian custody and Fahezeh’s family is not permitted to see her.
